Parental controls for Android TV and Google TV

Set viewing schedules. Approve exceptions from your phone.

Curfew Control helps parents, guardians, and other adult household administrators manage when apps can be used on supported Android TV and Google TV devices. The TV app enforces the rules, while the free Android and iPhone companion apps let an authorized adult manage a paired TV and respond to access requests.

Available now

Install Curfew Control on your TV and phone

Start with the TV app to create and enforce the rules. Then add the free companion app on an iPhone or Android phone to manage your paired TVs and approve requests.

The companion apps control Curfew Control on paired TVs; they do not restrict apps on the phone itself.

Made for family life

Clear TV boundaries, with flexibility when it matters

Set dependable TV routines without turning every exception into a debate. Curfew Control gives adults the tools to manage app time while making it easy to say yes when the moment calls for it.

Set app rules

Create schedules, date exceptions, daily or weekly allowances, and temporary access for apps installed on the TV.

Approve requests

A restricted viewer can request access. An authorized adult can approve or deny the request from a paired Android phone or iPhone.

Protect the setup

The TV administrator PIN and optional protection for selected system Settings paths help prevent ordinary on-screen changes to Curfew Control.

How it works

The TV enforces restrictions; the phone is a companion

Take a one-minute tour of the TV app and the phone companion. The video plays from YouTube only after you press play.
  1. Install Curfew Control on a supported Android TV or Google TV. Complete the guided setup and enable the Curfew Control Accessibility service. Android requires this service so the app can identify the foreground TV app, enforce schedules, and display restriction or timer screens.
  2. Pair an Android phone or iPhone on the same home network. Pairing uses a code or QR code shown by the TV. Direct management uses an authenticated, encrypted local-network connection.
  3. Choose rules and respond to exceptions. The adult administrator can manage schedules, copy rules between paired TVs, check restriction status, and approve or deny requests. Optional approval notifications use a private relay so requests can arrive when the phone app is in the background.

The phone apps do not restrict apps on the phone itself. Curfew Control does not provide an Apple TV or tvOS restriction app. Optional TV screen previews must first be enabled at the TV, stay on the home network, include no audio, and are not stored by Curfew Control.

Google account data

Why Curfew Control asks you to continue with Google

To start the TV app's three-day trial, Curfew Control requests Google's OpenID identity and verified email address. This limited account link lets Curfew Control:

Curfew Control does not receive your Google password. It immediately discards Google ID, access, and refresh tokens, does not request or store your name, and does not use account information for advertising or profiling. The verified email address is encrypted at rest. After the trial, the TV app offers a one-time permanent unlock through Google Play; the phone companion apps are free.

Privacy by design

Household controls stay focused on their purpose

Schedules and direct TV management stay on the TV and the household network. The limited online service handles trial and purchase validation and, when enabled, private approval relaying. Crash reporting is optional and off by default. Curfew Control has no advertising and does not sell personal information.
